Shikamaru and I are back from China. It was amazing. I'm glad that we were able to get away for a while and have a nice, stress-free vacation while I could still travel. But now I can't really leave Konoha anymore, and I have to cut back my hours at work. My doctor told me I'm on my feet too much. As long as I don't have to go through bedrest, I should be okay. God help this village if I'm put on bedrest...
Now that I'm back, I have some things I need to take care of. These things include but are not limited to:
- Visit Naruto
- Speak to Gaara
- Speak to Lee
- Finish lamaze class (Shika, you have to finish, too. Otherwise I'll bring someone else and you'll have nothing to do with either child)
- Set up plans for the other Asst. Director to take over my duties while I'm on leave
- Names
- Pick up more vitamins, as I'm out
- Probably a lot of things I'm forgetting

Work's been pretty quiet as of late. I have the sneaking suspicion that they're lightening my workload for me because I'm starting to look...well, really pregnant. The doctor says I'm supposed to gain about six pounds each month, now. Gaining all this weight after working so hard to stay relatively in shape is rather annoying, but I guess necessary. Working to get rid of it later is going to be a bitch. But anyway, enough about that. I'm sure no one wants to hear about all my backaches and other pregnancy problems. I'll just complain to Shikamaru later.
I suppose we're going to start looking for an apartment soon, so that's something else to fret over. I'll be glad to get out of my old apartment, but I'm not sure if I want to move to another part of Konoha. I enjoy being so close to my friends, and that I live farther from the clamor of downtown. But I guess the larger apartments are farther out, so I don't know. We'll see where our apartment hunting leads us.

Oh, and I saw Gaara during my afternoon lunch break the other day. It's always fun to spend time with otoutou. Although we haven't seen Kankuro around lately - he travels so much - it's good to have family close by, especially now.

Work has been rather low-key now that the holidays are over. The kids are all back in school, so the daycare staff has thinned down considerably. They also aren't coming to my office every five minutes screaming about fingerpaint on the walls or random toddlers gone missing. And because the kids are in school, we've been able to get more of the mothers on interviews for potential jobs. Any help we can give these women to get them and their families back on their own feet. Unfortunately, there are always some people who end up feeling lost and confused and in that confusion, go back to the same abusive households and relationships they came from. We do have a few "regulars" in the shelter, but if they don't want to help themselves, unfortunately there's only so much we can do for them.
Otherwise, the babies have started kicking. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized it, however blearily. Don't get me wrong, I'm still worried. There are still complications that can occur, especially since there are two instead of one. But I can't help but smile when I feel a little jab or kick to my ribs. Well, sometimes I wince. I think someone in there has been listening to Naruto and is practicing to be a ninja. Naruto, stop talking about ninjas! And when are we going out for chai?

Well, finally got Naruto to...open up some. Used my key to get inside, fixed up a small injury he had, had a little talk and put him to bed. Your ramen is in the fridge, Naruto. EAT IT. And please call me, okay? I want to talk to you.

So...yeah. Okay. We have news. Shika and I. And this was the only way I could think of to contact all of you at once. I would call everyone if I wanted to go deaf listening to you all shrieking and crying and what have you, but I enjoy my hearing, thank you.
Anyway.
I am pregnant.
Chouji, Ino, and Naruto already know.
It's twins.
Only Naruto knew that, because I had an ultrasound after we can back from Iwa. I knew I was gaining too much weight for my first trimester.
...Surprise?
Don't fucking scream about it. I mean it. I haven't had a cigarette for about two and a half months now and I'm really on edge. I'll rip your face off.

Awake too damn early. I'm tired and sick. I already had a checkup planned for Thursday, so hopefully they'll give me something good. This sucks.

Work is getting rather hectic, so I doubt I will be on here as much. Every year around this time I start to get nostalgic. ( I remember when I was a sophomore in high school... )
Now, my family is bigger. I have Gaara, and we're closer now than we've ever been. And Kankuro, even though he's still locked up. Naruto, you know you're like the little blond brother I've never had. And Hinata, I've always tended to watch over you like a sister, too. Kin, our grumpy partner-in-crime. Of course Shikamaru, I couldn't imagine spending another Christmas without you. Even his extended family, Ino and Chouji.
God, Christmas makes me such a friggin' sap.

Some kids at the Shelter found out I used to have a journal, so they figured it would be cute if they found it and made me a new one. Aw, they're gonna get strangled so cute sometimes. Anyway, I figured this would be a good place to keep up with everyone, since the people I know apparently hate telephones.
Shikamaru and I are having Christmas dinner at my apartment. Gaara, Naruto, Kin - I want you all there, okay? You can't say no or I'll beat you up cry.
Dinner is late, since I have to be at the dinner for the Shelter, so if you don't have any plans, make sure you're at my apartment around 9.
